The yacht was beginning to fail

With hurricane warnings in force
When Coxswain Jones brought out the lifeboat
You'd think it could not get much worse
When the port engine stopped - on the lifeboat
Foul line from the Pastime had caught
And wrapped the propellor up tightly
Ensnaring the help it had brought

Four people were trapped on the Pastime
One engine - and oil spread for calm
St Cybi - the lifeboat - approached her
To take off her crew - safe from harm
ch
The lifeboatmen grabbed the yacht's handrail
The yacht and St Cybi hauled wide
By violent water between them
But four people left the yacht's side
ch
Two men and two women to safety
To warmth and to food and to drink
The Pastime left heaving and rolling
No slack - so they left her to sink
ch
The storm was a fury - and battered
St Cybi - whose progress was slow
With hard work and sea - the propellor
Was cleared --for the throttle to go
ch
The Acting mechanic - inventive
Tied up - with a bootlace repair
The throttle - to make the stopped engine
Work hard - in the storm's rage out there
ch
The Coxswain - Wil Jones - was awarded
A medal in Silver The crew
